Business Development Manager

The Role

The key task for this role is expanding our commercial capabilities through (creative) partnerships. You are the go to person to explore opportunities for collaborations, strategic partnerships, new business models and other avenues for revenue generation that go beyond our standard sales process. 

To be successful in this role you

1) See opportunities everywhere, 

2) Can scope these out and assess the commercial value,

3) Engage in creative deal making that ensure great long-term outcomes for any party involved.

This is a hands-on role that involves research, relationship building, prospecting, strategy, negotiation and partnership management. You will work closely with our Sales Director and CEO, but also other business departments such as Product, Customer Success and Engineering.

Clinicians or product professionals with a commercial edge, maverick creative dealmakers in various industries or rainmakers in healthcare companies that don’t sell according to the status quo. This position has an annual quota to achieve. For this role we offer a generous salary, bonus and share options.

    Senior Product Manager

    What we’re looking for

    The key word for this role is ownership. You are the CEO of our product. We are looking for an accomplished digital health Senior Product Manager to help us 1) Identify user & business needs, 2) Define and execute our roadmap and 3) Deliver clear instructions to our engineering and AI team and 4) Consistently future proof our product maintaining competitive advantage

    This is a hands-on role that involves strategy and decision making across all stages of our Product Lifecycle.

    Responsibilities

    • Defining and executing the product roadmap, priorities and release planning 
    • Gathering and refining requirements (e.g. user stories, wireframes) for agile delivery of changes to our user-facing platforms based on user feedback and input from the team
    • Proactive approach to improving our product – prioritising customer insight in line with company strategy Working with Clinical Safety Officer on clinical safety assessments of product changes
    • Working with our developers/testers to brief them on specifications, clarify requirements and ensure that deliveries are acceptable
    • Supporting execution and continuous improvement of our processes for developing non-medical-device products and when directed medical device products.

    Skills and Experience

    • 4-5 years experience in product management, driving the product roadmap
    • Excellent project management skills: ability to define scope & timelines
    • Experience in interacting with users and making user centric decisions
    • Prior experience within health technology and or medical devices is a necessity
    • Understanding of ISO13485  or an appetite to learn would be a huge plus
    • Experience of managing requirements and writing/compiling technical documentation
    • Experience of agile environments and incremental delivery

      Product Owner - Intergration

      The role

      Driving a great product, and developing AI that is genuinely useful and evidence based, are top priorities at Skin Analytics. In this position you will play an important role in ensuring that our software connects effectively with multiple systems our customers use (NHS and Private healthcare). You understand these systems well, and can work closely with our Technology, Clinical Safety and Partnerships teams to prioritise and deliver integrations which make our products more powerful in practice. From making it easier to request skin assessments from within a GP clinical system, to delivering assessment reports back into a hospital EMR, getting these integrations right will increase adoption of our service, which means more patients with skin cancer are diagnosed earlier.

      This is a brilliant opportunity if you have been a product owner or business analyst for a couple of years (working on or with healthcare systems), but want more ownership, more diverse responsibilities, and recognition of being a true expert in your company. Working for a startup also offers you a lot of exposure and insight into other business units such as operations, partnerships, engineering, sales and more.       Responsibilities

      • Take full responsibility for the integration roadmap and ensure this is delivered
      • Drive the integration squad in our Technology team to deliver our integration priorities and continuously improve our approach to integrations
      • Work with the Partnerships Managers (and our partners directly) to plan and deliver successful integrations with the systems our partners use
      • Liaise with other integration partners (e.g. national NHS systems via NHS Digital), following the necessary processes to achieve compliance for live service
      • Stay up-to-date with healthcare interoperability standards and initiatives in the UK and beyond (FHIR/HL7) – you are the expert in the business

      Applicant Requirements

      • Two years of working experience working with healthcare systems (such as EMIS, SystmOne, Cerner, Epic etc.), particularly on integration
      • API experience – understanding how these work and the concepts underpinning successful integrations
      • Lifecycle experience – having taken a digital product/feature through from early ideation to deployment
      • Experience of working with technical teams, ideally as part of a multidisciplinary team

        Clinical Research Director

        The role

        This role will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to the largest AI clinical research program in dermatology conducted to date. Not only are we aiming for our existing technology to be scaled across different populations, we will also be looking to bring new products to market after comprehensive clinical evaluation. You will be end responsible for all clinical research activities that the business undertakes. The role reports into our Medical Director with whom you will work closely together on defining the clinical research roadmap.

         

        This position will suit you if you have been in Clinical Research for more than 10 years, and have experience of defining data evidence needs and clinical study design, programme management, and publishing results to the scientific community. We expect the right candidate to have experience working in new areas of healthcare (this could be new therapies, innovative medical devices, novel diagnostic methods or artificial intelligence). The successful candidate is also an experienced line manager, working alongside data management, statistical, study monitoring, and data management staff, and used to collaborating with different disciplines outside clinical research.

        Responsibilities

            • Define the data needed to support the commercial activities of the company, and define a research program to deliver that data, balancing efficiency with scientific rigour
            • Head up the company efforts in securing grant funding for research and development activities
            • Lead the company activities on clinical study design, clinical study operations, data management, analysis, interpretation and reporting/publication, engaging with external stakeholders (clinicians, Trusts, third party suppliers etc) as required to ensure studies are robust, viable and valuable
            • Ensure all Clinical Research is conducted in accordance with relevant regulations, including ownership of relevant company SOPs
            • Organise, attend and provide co-secretarial functions for the company’s Clinical AdvisoryCommittee, to engage independent external clinical advisors in the proposed or ongoing clinical research projects
            • To present, or support other members of the team to present, research results to at internal meetings and external conference presentations
            • Be accountable for  the Clinical Evaluation required as part of the regulatory technical file for the company’s Medical Devices
            • Be a role model for ethical high standards in a fast moving, data driven healthcare company, demonstrating a focus on quality and patient safety in everything we do 

        Skills and Experience

            • 10+ years experience in clinical research. Ideally you have climbed the ranks from a study delivery team through Project Management into a leadership role
            • Minimum MSc degree, preferably a PhD, with authorship on publications relating to studies you have been responsible for
            • Recent cross functional line management experience required
            • Experience with pivotal studies, ideally with FDA or MDR 
            • Experience of a broad variety of study designs and evidence generation practices
            • Experience driving / authoring SOPs, Protocols, SAPs, CSR’s, Publications, Database Design
            • Experience defining data gaps and designing studies, robust evidence generation to address this
            • Good understanding of regulatory documentation across UK, EU and USA
            • Comfortable working with external academics / clinicians to define studies and present results
            • Has worked alongside commercial teams, conducting Phase IV studies and other data generation activities to support commercial needs
            • Keen to work in SME environment, and confident to work with smaller amount of resources than typically present in a large multinational environment

        Medical Writer

        This role can be 0.8 – 1 FTE.

        The Role

        This is a specialist role suited to someone who loves being at the forefront of science and technology. Artificial Intelligence is hugely important in the future of healthcare, and in this role you will be consistently learning about new technologies. You will work with unconventional content and cutting edge research.

        The right candidate is able to communicate complex data into understandable reports, publications, regulatory submissions and marketing messages. You will work closely with our Clinical Research team, our Medical Director, our AI Product Lead, QARA Director, and Marketing Manager. 

        Responsibilities

          • Take ownership of all scientific writing within Skin Analytics
          • Clinical Study Protocols, Amendments and supporting documents
          • Statistical Analysis Plans
          • Clinical Study Reports
          • Clinical Evaluation Reports
          • Manuscripts, Publications, Abstracts, Posters

          • Provide scientific content and technical writing support on:
          • Regulatory Submissions
          • Marketing materials
          • Reviewing internal and external-facing scientific documents for accurate content, adherence to regulatory standards / SOPs, as required, and to ensure comprehensibility by the intended audience.

        Skills and Experience

        • PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Medical Engineering, Medical Science or Similar
        • Excellent / Native English
        • Minimum 3 years experience as a Medical Writer, regularly writing the following scientific content: CER’s; Protocols; Study Reports; Publications
        • Minimum 2 years experience working within Medical Device Regulations. SaMD is beneficial.
        • Experience of producing reports in accordance with CDISC tabulations and controlled terminologies

          Senior Data Management Programmer

          The role

          This role will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to the largest AI clinical research program in dermatology conducted to date. You will be integral to the team running three clinical studies, with three more in set up, which will provide the pivotal evaluations of our AI algorithm across different settings and geographies. You will also be involved in the ongoing management and processing of data from our live commercial deployments.

          This position will suit you if you have been in a Data Manager role for 3 – 4 years and are looking for more responsibility and a challenging project.

          We would like to hire an experienced Data Manager, who thrives on working with a small project team, on longer term challenges.

          In this position you will bridge the gap between Artificial Intelligence, clinical operations and classical statistics – we not only believe AI and statistics are complementary to each other, but are all needed to evaluate our AI algorithms!

          Responsibilities

          • Lead the Data Management activities to bring our clinical studies to a successful end: design databases, monitoring data collection, generate and resolve data queries, coding, data cleaning, keep oversight of database lock activities and archive study data
          • Close collaboration with our Biostatistician, Clinical Research Director, Clinical Operations teams, Medical Director, AI Product Manager and Digital Clinicians.
          • Own Data Management strategy, timelines, delivery and collaboration with CRO vendors
          • Prepare datasets for analysis according to the required standards
          • Provide Quality Assurance to our data handling activities

           Skills and Experience

          • MSc in Scientific discipline, ideally with a strong focus on statistics 
          • Minimum 3 years experience in private sector (life sciences) data management position
          • Experience with database exports and management
          • Experience with clinical trials and clinical study data
          • Experience with programming (SAS preferred, R is beneficial)
          • Good understanding of CIDISC standards
          • Experience with Database design input
          • Knowledge in data analytics advantageous but not necessary
          • Familiar with data protection regulations
          • Familiar with the Good Clinical Practice standard
