Following his conversation with Neil, Seb Johnson took to LinkedIn, saying:
Skin Analytics has built AI software that helps detect skin cancer using a normal phone camera.
The UK startup, founded by Neil Daly, lets healthcare systems scan a patient and find out if a mole is cancerous without needing a doctor in the room.
The company has already checked over 300,000 patients and successfully spotted 25,000 cancers.
This is massive because more than nine out of ten people sent to a specialist turn out to be healthy, which keeps the people who actually need help stuck on a waiting list.
By letting local clinics run these scans autonomously, they can rule out healthy patients instantly and get the sick people treated fast.
I spoke to Neil on the Scaling Europe show about the smartphone breakthrough, and twelve years spent building toward this.
